It's an exciting time in my PA-20 fuselage restoration because I've finished manufacturing boot compels inspection plates windows etc. and can start assembling the thousand and one parts into one donation.
I've replaced the plexy glass with Lexan polycarbonate. I had cut, beveled and drilled the rear passenger window and was installing it when I decided I should wash the finger prints off first. So carefully following directions I flushed the surface dirt off, sponged with mild dish washing detergent and rinsed with hot water. I carefully wiped the suds with eager anticipation to see the crystal clear plastic. I was greeted instead by a ruined $20 sheet of strato cumulus clouded Lexan.
I assume the heat softened the polycarbonate and it absorbed impurities from the sponge. The directions didn't say anything about hot water. I hope that my boo boo might save you some money if you have need to clean lexan.
